It is our pleasure to invite you to attend a seminar talk with the following details:
Title of the talk: Modular forms and the multiplicity one phenomenon
Speaker: Dr. Arvind Kumar, Assistant Professor, IIT Jammu.
Abstract: In this talk, we will give an introduction to modular forms. After giving some interesting examples, we will explore a few of their fundamental properties. We will also briefly examine the connection of different areas of mathematics via modular forms, particularly number theory and representation theory. In the final part of the talk, we will turn to the multiplicity one theorem, which describes how a modular form can be determined by its Fourier coefficients, and conclude with a brief overview of some recent developments and related research. The talk will assume only a basic familiarity with algebra and analysis.
